1-1 Personal Instruction

Motorcycle Skills Test
Motorcycle Skills Test - 150 minutes $300
The motorcycle skills test is a 15-minute test of basic riding skills like hand signals, clutch and throttle handling, braking and turning.
2 1/2 hr. private 1-1 lesson to give you the skills to pass your ICBC MST.

Included in Session.

15-minute introduction to the MST, its purpose and what you need to do to pass.

15 minutes of demonstration.
-
60 minutes of instruction.

60 minutes of mock testing.
(please note Shiny Side Up does not have an ICBC-certified Motorcycle Skills Assessment Officer and you will need to past the test at an ICBC test centre)
Motorcycle Rental Included & delivered to ICBC Burnaby
Road Test Preparation - 150 mins $225
(i) One 90 minute lesson to prepare student to pass the ICBC Road Test complete with 2 way helmet to helmet intercoms.
(ii) One 60 session to practice mock ICBC Road Test complete with 2 way helmet to helmet intercoms.

Road Test Preparation With M/Cycle $300
As above but with motorcycle rental included for road lessons and test.

Class 6 Road Test Preparation

Road Refresher / Advanced Skills - 2.0 hrs $180
One 90-minute lesson on the road with 2-way helmet-to-helmet communications covering but not limited to topics as:

Assessing current riding style for items 2. to 5. below to be more alert and informed to make better riding decisions.

Situational awareness - knowing what is going on around you in traffic

Implementing a defensive riding strategy, assuming 150% of other 4-wheeled (and more) road users are out to get you!

Reading the road ahead and planning an escape route at all times.

Cornering techniques, including lane positioning.​
Slow Speed Skills - 2 hrs $180
One 180-minute lesson on a parking lot to refresh your slow speed riding. Based upon your abilities the following topics may be covered.

Maintaining slow walking pace by modulating clutch / throttle / rear brake.

U-Turns within 1.5m minimum turning diameter of your bike.

U-Turns at full lock / full extent of your bike (smallest possible)

Starting from bars turned directly into a turn.

Various cone based manoeuvers designed to challenge rider's individual skill level (such as 360, figure eight, keyholes etc).​

Sudden stopping from 30kmph and upwards.
